Gary Lopez is the founder and CEO of Tinycode, a venture-backed AI safety and security platform that red teams and secures AI systems end to end.
Gary spent four years at Microsoft, most recently as Principal Offensive AI Scientist on the AI Red Team. He created PyRIT, the Python Risk Identification Tool for generative AI, which Microsoft released under an MIT license and later integrated into Azure AI Foundry as the engine behind its AI Red Teaming Agent. Microsoft's AI Red Team has used PyRIT internally for years, including work on Copilot and the Phi-3 model release.
At Microsoft he lead dozens of red teaming operations and led the team's work on catastrophic AI risks, including chemical and biological threats.
Gary has spoken at conferences including Black Hat, RSAC, and CAMLIS. Before Microsoft, he worked at Booz Allen Hamilton identifying and remediating zero-day vulnerabilities in critical infrastructure systems.
